“Ecce homo!” = “Behold, the man!” - https://bible.usccb.org/bible/john/19
Dietrich Von Hildebrand - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietrich_von_Hildebrand
“From then on, Dietrich’s life was changed. His passionate love for beauty and for natural truth in no way waned. But he had found a beauty that was infinitely more ravishing--the face of Christ and His Church and the supernatural message they convey, the path of humility and love leading to holiness” Alice Von Hildebrand, The Soul of a Lion, 136-137 - https://ignatius.com/the-soul-of-a-lion-soulp/
“Therefore, that I might not become too elated, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, to beat me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Cor 12: 7 - 10 - https://bible.usccb.org/bible/2corinthians/12
“Although there are claims of similar healings of emotionally and mentally ill people occurring in a very short period of time. I doubt that these occur frequently. In my experience, the healing of the emotionally ill person takes place gradually and in stages. In my opinion, this is the more gentle and loving way for God to deal with his afflicted children.[...] A person who has been the victim of a neurotic disorder since childhood, would be at a loss as to how to live in a healthier manner if the Holy Spirit suddenly were to heal his disorder. His lack of experience would be a formidable obstacle. If he were to be surrounded by emotionally full grown and integrated friends and relatives, this may be possible. But, as conditions in society are now, the suddenly emotionally mature person would have considerable difficulty in convincing others that his way, not theirs, was a truly healthy, normal way of life.” Conrad Baars, Feeling and Healing Your Emotions, 208 - 209. - https://www.baarsinstitute.com/shop/p/feeling-and-healing-your-emotions
